The Staircase of the Turks

Rocky cliff rising above the sea, between two strips of thin sand, along the Southern Coast of Sicily, in Realmonte, close to Porto Empedocle.

The dazzling white colour of the rock contrasts the sea and the sky blue colour, offering a breath-taking landscape. 

The rock shape recalls indeed wavy stairs, where according to legend says that Saracen pirates, wrongly named ‘Turks’, arrived during the invasions of the XVI century.
