SALINA CUCUNCI IN SALT GR 250

euro 9.80

The Salina 'Cucunci' are the sauvory fruits of the Caper plant cultivated in Salina, one of the Sicilian Aeolian Islands. They have a small cucumber shape and are characterised by a strong and pungent aroma. The caper bush is an integral part of the landscape on the island of Salina. Until the advent of tourism, capers were the cornerstone of the island’s economy, but the industry is now in crisis because of competition from cheaper North African capers.

Using Tips: Salina 'Cucunci' are ideal as apetizer and are also used as an important ingredient for several Sicilian recipes.

Weight: 250 gr Area of Origin: Salina, Aeolian Isalnds (Messina Province) - Sicily Ingredients: capers, sea salt. Free of preservatives.
