This wine is strongly linked to the tradition and soil of the territory of the Etna. The oenological techniques used exalt the characteristics of the grapes used. Its personality, elegance and sensorial complexity are linked to the soil on which the grapes are grown. Its mineral taste brings back the memory of lava and volcanic sand. This wine was the first bottled in 1982 and is still the most important product of the Estate. 

Tasting notes: Colour: Ruby red Bouquet: Red fruit and spices (black pepper and cloves) Mouth: Tasty, harmonic, elegant, long lasting and with good intensity.

Recommended with:  Home made pasta with bolognaise sauce, grilled Etna sausage with wild fennel.

Classification: Etna Rosso DOC Grape Variety:  Nerello Mascalese Area of Origin: Tenuta San Michele (Santa Venerina - CT) and other DOC authorised vineyards Wine making: De-stalking and crushing of the grapes. Maceration at a controlled temperature (28-29° C), with selected yeasts in stainless steel vats for 7-8 days. After racking, the wine is left to mature for 6-8 months in the typical chestnut-wood barrels of Etna (capacity 30-130 hl) and then assembled and sent to the underground cellar to mature in stainless steel vats until bottling takes place in various periods after at least one year from the harvest. The wine has then matured in the bottle for at least 3 months. Alcohol content: 13 vol.% Bottle: 75 cl
