An extraordinary Nero D'Avola, reminding of ancient lands and millenary traditions, lively ntelligence and tired faces belonging to sleepless nights. A great red wine in the unique and unrepeatable Sicilian wines landscape. Zahir IGT is produced in Contrada Santa Anastasia, in a village named Castelbuono, in Palermo province. Abbazia Santa Anastasia Winery (where Abbazia stands for 'Abbey') was founded in 1100 by Conte Ruggero d'Altavilla and quickly became the cultural and working centre for the population of Madonie Mountains. When the City of Castelbuono was founded, in 1316, the monks left the Abbey and the surrounding lands. In 1980 the Engineer Francesco Lena decided to buy and reclaim these lands with the intention to create a perfect winery, where the harvest is manual, carried out during the freshest hours of the day, where the white wines are preserved sur lies in a fresh temperature and the great red wines are aged in French oak barriques.
